This exercise is a stepping lunge. It targets the total leg, what I have Erika do she’s going to take one large step forward lunging down and impressing from the heel right back up to the standing position it’s a much more explosive exercise than the stationary lunge pushing down and back up.
Still a very controlled movement. Two seconds on the way down, two seconds on the way back up. Really important as your coming down drive in the hips down into the heel and pressing back up. You to do ten on one leg then when you come up go to the other leg for another ten. Keeping it always nice and controlled pressing back up always keeping your core, your abdominal muscles nice and tight throughout to whole exercise. Always looking forward. Inhale on the way down, exhale on the way back. When you’ve done ten on the both legs, then move on to the next exercise.
