I know it's hard to hard to believe that eating more fat can help you lose weight, but it's true! Coconut oil has a unique combination of fatty acids that effect your metabolism and help you feel fuller longer (so you eat less!), naturally.
The best way to incorporate coconut oil into your diet is to replace fats already found in your diet, with coconut oil. You don't need to go overboard, two tablespoons a day is the target goal.
Coconut oil works great in most in dishes and is even an increasingly popular alternative to butter. If you don’t like the taste of coconut, use the refined version. It has a higher smoke point (you can cook with it at higher temp) and doesn't have a strong coconut flavor. The best part is coconut oil is reasonably priced, so you're not gonna go broke losing that belly fat.
Here's how I get my daily dose of coconut oil.
Add Coconut Oil to Butter.
In a mixing bowl, soften one stick of butter and add equal amounts of coconut oil. Blend together and allow to cool in a fridge until the mixture is semi-solid, but yet, workable. Roll in to a log and wrap in plastic wrap. Use the fatty mixture as butter replacement. It's tasty on toast, potatoes, you name it!
Milk or Cream? Coconut Oil, Please.
If you drink coffee trying you're in luck - your morning cup is a great opportunity to get more fatty acids in your diet. Blend together a cup of coffee and one tablespoon coconut oil with your until frothy. It may sound weird, but it's delicious. In fact, I usually skip my splash of cream twice a day.
Add Coconut Oil to Smoothies
To get your daily dose of coconut oil, consider adding it to smoothies. The mild flavor goes unnoticed in most smoothie mixes and because of the high fat content, you'll feel full for hours. Try adding one tablespoon of coconut oil to your favorite smoothie, today!
